Early in September 2002, owner Pamela Ruiz received the coveted phone call from the “Better Homes and Gardens, Quilt Sampler ” editor Heidi Kaisand, that Sew Bee It was to be one of 10 Quilt Shops featured in the 2003 issue of “Quilt Sampler Magazine.” She walked the cordless phone into the back room to try to concentrate on what she thought she was
hearing. She was certain it was something about a subscription problem being resolved or something she might have called about. She soon began screaming like her hair was on fire with excitement.
If you were in the store that day, we are finally able to tell you why she was such a maniac! They told us it had to be kept under wraps until January 1st 2003. It’s been the hardest secret we've ever had to keep! Thanks to all of you who think we are one of the best. We feel truly blessed.
Each year featured shops offer a quilt project in the magazine. We will publish our “Quilter’s Garden” wall hanging. This lovely landscape quilt is the one with the garden path down the center. This round robin creation provided the original inspiration for the garden theme in the shop’s design.
